Motor Repairing /
Rewinding Service:
Our highly trained staff of over 50 years experience and our professionally equipped repair facility with in-house Machine Services allows us to accurately and quickly respond to all of your Electric Motor Needs. Our commitment to customer service and quality work makes us second to none, making us "your best choice" for all of your electric motor needs.
What We Do:
Upon arrival all motors are disassembled
All mechanical, bearing housing, shaft journals fits are checked to EASA standards.
All parts are cleaned.
Stators are MEG-OHM, Surge comparison, High Potential tested and Visually inspected to EASA standards. Open Stator test and Amperage are recorded.
Motors that arrive which are contaminated are disassembled, cleaned, baked and then tested.
If Test results are low, a Clean, Dip and Bake is done to economize for customer.
If test results fail, motor is grounded/shorted, a rewind is ordered.
Clean, Dip and Bake Procedure:
Stator is Steam and High Pressure cleaned and then Hot water rinsed to remove all contaminates.
Stator is baked to ensure all moisture is removed.
Retest Unit again, Surge, High Pot and Meg Ohm, to ensure integrity and all contaminates were removed.
Unit is dipped and Baked using Class H polyester insulating varnish to renew the insulation integrity of windings.
Rotor is cleaned and balanced if required or requested. Recorded Balance Report is Provided.
Unit is then assembled installing new Bearings and applicable seals.
Unit is test ran at line voltage and Amp draws are recorded.
Unit is then Painted.
Rewinding Procedure:
Stator will be reclaimed using our ACE, state of the art, Double Water Suppression burn out oven so there is no Iron Damage and to ensure temperature doesn't exceed the Temperature set point.
Stator are stripped and original winding data is recorded.
All stators will be cleaned and any Iron damage will be repaired.
Core Loss Test and Hot Spot test is done, results recorded and report provided.
Stator slots are insulated with Dupont Nomex® 180 C liners.
Coils are prepared and wound with Essex™ Inverter duty class H magnet wire to meet or exceed manufactures original winding specifications.
Coils are neatly installed and are phase insulated to insure against phase to phase shorting.
High temperature EPDM lead wire installed and silver soldered to ensure maximum electrical conductivity.
All windings are neatly tied down and shaped for proper air passage and End Bell clearance.
Stator are surge, Meg Ohm, High Potential, Open Stator and Amp draw tested. All test results recorded.
Stators are preheated to remove any possible moisture, and then dipped in Class H Insulating varnish. Motors in demanding applications will be multiple dipped and baked and or Epoxy coated for maximum electrical and mechanical stability.
All motor Iron bores, end bell fits and mounting feet will have excess varnish removed to ensure proper fit.
Rotor is cleaned and balanced if required or requested. Recorded Balance Report is Provided.
Unit is then assembled installing new Bearings and applicable seals.
Unit is test ran at line voltage and Amp draws are recorded.
Unit is then Painted.
